UBS Wealth Man­age­ment Amer­i­cas is bring­ing five more pub­lic fi­nance em­ploy­ees on board.

The firm has been staffing up af­ter re­launch­ing its pub­lic fi­nance ef­fort ear­lier this year. Last week, it an­nounced Andy Naka­hata’s ar­rival and two weeks ago it hired 19 new em­ploy­ees.

“The mo­men­tum we are ex­pe­ri­enc­ing in our pub­lic fi­nance busi­ness is un­der­scored by our abil­ity to at­tract top tal­ent. It is with great plea­sure that I an­nounce the fol­low­ing new join­ers,” said Peter Hill, head of pub­lic fi­nance for UBS, in an in­ter­nal memo late Thurs­day.

In San An­to­nio, Mark Seal joins as an ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor and banker in the South­west re­gion.

He is com­ing from M.E. Al­li­son & Co. where he worked in the pub­lic fi­nance busi­ness for over 27 years. He be­gan his ca­reer as an as­so­ciate banker struc­tur­ing is­sues; pre­par­ing of­fer­ing doc­u­ments; rat­ing agency pre­sen­ta­tions and re­quest for pro­pos­als.

As his ca­reer grew, he be­came a fi­nan­cial ad­vi­sor to sev­eral sig­nif­i­cant is­suers in Texas. He has served on var­i­ous lo­cal boards and has strong re­la­tion­ships within the San An­to­nio com­mu­nity.

Stay­ing in Texas, Shawnell Hol­man comes aboard as an ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor and banker in the South­west re­gion and will be based in Austin. She was most re­cently at Siebert Cis­neros Shank where she was se­nior banker for busi­ness orig­i­na­tion to prospec­tive clients in the Texas and north Louisiana re­gion.

She has over fif­teen years of pro­gres­sive fi­nance and in­vest­ment ex­pe­ri­ence in­clud­ing spear­head­ing mu­nic­i­pal bond deals to­tal­ing over $30 bil­lion of par.

In Chicago, Michael McIn­tyre has joined as an as­so­ciate in the Mid­west re­gion.

He last worked at Wil­liam Blair, which ex­ited the mu­nic­i­pal bond busi­ness in July. At Blair, he was an as­so­ciate in the debt cap­i­tal mar­kets di­vi­sion sup­port­ing se­nior bankers fo­cused on non-profit, gov­ern­men­tal, and higher ed­u­ca­tion mu­nic­i­pal bond is­sues. Prior to that, he worked at PNC in the cor­po­rate & in­sti­tu­tional bank­ing di­vi­sion.

In New York, Fred­er­ick Put­nam will be join­ing as an ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor and banker in the North­east re­gion. He comes from J.P. Mor­gan where he led in­vest­ment bank­ing cov­er­age of pub­lic sec­tor and in­fra­struc­ture clients in New York and Mas­sachusetts, pro­vid­ing them with new fi­nanc­ing ideas for use in the pub­lic and pri­vate cap­i­tal mar­kets. He was part of a team that achieved top rank­ings in the North­east re­gion as well as was the lead man­ager for $7 bil­lion of debt for in­fra­struc­ture clients.

In Or­lando, Mar­garet Lez­cano will be a man­ag­ing di­rec­tor and head of South­east bank­ing af­ter five years at Stifel. She has 23 years of pub­lic fi­nance bank­ing ex­pe­ri­ence. Pre­vi­ously, she was an ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor at UBS and started her ca­reer in New York, pri­mar­ily as a vice pres­i­dent with Goldman Sachs and a di­rec­tor at Cit­i­group.

She has ex­ten­sive fi­nanc­ing ex­pe­ri­ence with lo­cal gov­ern­ment is­suers through­out the South­east re­gion and par­tic­u­larly within Florida. ◽
