The Boyertown Grizzlies needed only seven minutes Saturday morning to claim the Junior Legion TwinCounty League Championship.

Continuing action from Friday night, Jake Harman led-off the bottom of the eighth inning with a single and eventually came around to score on Matt Haman’s RBI to shortstop a few batters later to send the Grizzlies past Norchester for the league title.

The Grizzlies scored three runs on three errors in the sixth inning to even it up at 4-4 before the umpires called it because of darkness on Friday night.

BOYERTOWN BEAR CUBS 4, DANIEL BOONE 2 >> Gavin Henderson’s two-run single in the bottom of the sixth gave the Bear Cubs the lead for good in the Berks County League Championship game.

Andrew Hartman threw 6-1/3 innings giving up only two runs and three hits. Gavin Richards recorded the final two outs, the last out being a strikeout with two runners on. Kyle Jackson had two hits and a run scored. The Bear Cubs also won the regular season title with a 22-2 record and will open Regional play Saturday, July 23 at Lee Mecherly Field vs. the Lehigh County’s No. 2 seed.
