Boyertown Optimist Football: will hold a designer bag bingo fundraiser Saturday Oct. 1 at the Gilbertsville Fire Company, 1454 East Philadelphia Ave. in Gilbertsville. Cost is $30 for 20 regular games of bingo. Doors open at 5 p.m. Bingo starts at 7 p.m. For tickets, go to www.BaileysFundraising.org. All proceeds benefit the Boyertown Optimist Football program. Birdsboro Contra Dance: offers contra dancing on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Birdsboro Community Memorial Center, 201 E. Main St. in Birdsboro. Beginner instruction is at 7 p.m. Caller is Ridge Kennedy with music by Streak O Phat. Admission is $9 for adults, $6 students/ seniors. Wear soft-soled shoes.
