Ethan Laverdure’s overtime goal for Oley Valley stunned Reading, 3-2, in double overtime in a Berks League quarterfinal match Saturday at Wilson High School. The result sent the Red Knights – 9-0-1 in the league during the regular season as Section 1 champs – packing.

Laverdure’s game-winner came off a corner and sent the Lynx into the semifinals, where they’ll play Fleetwood on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., at Governor Mifflin.

Oley grabbed a surprising 2-0 lead in the first half on goals by Jaeger Frangakis and J.P. Pierdomenico, before Reading leveled it after the break in a span of 17 seconds.

A successful penalty kick conversion by Giovanni Zavala cut Oley’s lead in half; Pablo Rodriguez scored seconds later on a change of possession that was generated at midfield.
