Boy­er­town wrestling, Tommy Kil­lo­ran earn sil­ver

An­other his­toric Boy­er­town wrestling sea­son was capped by stel­lar per­for­mances in the an­nual PIAA Cham­pi­onships. The Bears, headed by its ‘Fab Five’ of re­turn­ing state qual­i­fiers, Jordan Wood, Tommy Kil­lo­ran, Gregg Harvey, Lu­cas Miller and Jakob Camp­bell, took a step for­ward at the PIAA Team Cham­pi­onships and placed sec­ond in Class AAA be­hind only pow­er­house Beth­le­hem Catholic. A month later at the in­di­vid­ual cham­pi­onships, the Bears sent nine qual­i­fiers – the afore­men­tioned five (save for Wood, who was un­able to com­pete due to in­jury), plus JT Coo­ley, David Camp­bell, Eli­jah Jones, Gar­rett Mauger and Matt Wilde. Heavy­weight Kil­lo­ran blazed through the PIAA Cham­pi­onships’ 285-pound bracket be­fore even­tu­ally suc­cumb­ing to Lib­erty’s An­drew Gun­ning, 2-1, in the ti­tle match. Kil­lo­ran head­lined three Boy­er­town medalists, joined in podium fin­ishes by Harvey (fifth at 182) and Jakob Camp­bell (sev­enth at 113).
