Ch­est­nut Knoll At Home to hold AARP Safe Driver Course

Do you need to re­fresh your driv­ing skills? Ch­est­nut Knoll At Home and AARP are here to help! Ch­est­nut Knoll At Home, Gil­bertsville, will hold an AARP Safe Driver Re­fresher Course on Tues­day, Jan. 17 from 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. at the of­fice, lo­cated at 1041 E. Philadel­phia Ave., Gil­bertsville.

The course is de­signed to help se­niors sharpen their driv­ing skills and knowl­edge of road rules and haz­ards, learn how to ad­just driv­ing due to agere­lated phys­i­cal changes, and re­duce chances of re­ceiv­ing traffic vi­o­la­tions or get­ting into an ac­ci­dent.

Learn how to main­tain a proper fol­low­ing dis­tance, the safest way to change lanes, ef­fects of med­i­ca­tions on driv­ing, and more.

Suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion can re­sult in dis­counts on car in­sur­ance (con­tact your in­sur­ance agent for de­tails). The course is avail­able to driv­ers aged 55 years and older.

The cost of the course for AARP mem­bers, with proof of mem­ber­ship, is $15 per per­son. The cost for non-mem­bers is $20 per per­son. All par­tic­i­pants must bring their AARP mem­ber­ship card (if ap­pli­ca­ble) and valid driver’s li­cense.
