The Alvernia University Class of 2017 earned associate, bachelor, master and doctoral degrees this May. Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement ceremonies were held May 13.
Hayley Elizabeth Lenhart of Gilbertsville, Pa., (19525) earned an Associate of Science degree in Medical Imaging with distinction. Lenhart completed studies at Reading Hospital.
Brianna Paige DePriest of Bechtelsville, Pa., (19505) earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Health. DePriest completed studies at Main Campus.
John Michael Petrecz of Boyertown, Pa., (19512) earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. Petrecz completed studies at Main Campus.
Joseph M. Saxon of Gilbertsville, Pa., (19525) earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management and Management . Saxon completed studies at Main Campus.
Abigail Marie Taylor of Barto, Pa., (19504) earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology magna cum laude. Taylor completed studies at Main Campus and minored in Behavioral Health and Philosophy.
Jenna Marie Marburger of Barto, Pa., (19504) earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Marburger completed studies at Main Campus and minored in Biology.
Brooke Elizabeth Merkel of Boyertown, Pa., (19512) earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Community Service and Economic Leadership . Merkel completed studies at Main Campus.
Elise Colleen Giles of Gilbertsville, Pa., (19525) earned a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree. Giles completed studies at Main Campus.
Commencement speakers included President Thomas F. Flynn, Ph.D., John Carr, director of the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought & Public Life at Georgetown University, and Angela Marie Scandone, who offered a student address. Carr was also awarded an honorary degree during the ceremony.
