Barto man charged in Route 422 road rage

NORTH COVEN­TRY » Po­lice have charged a man after he al­legedly dis­played a hand­gun to a vic­tim on Route 422.

Thomas Hol­land, 44, of Barto, was ar­rested Sun­day, Aug. 20, after a vic­tim called po­lice to re­port the in­ci­dent.

North Coven­try Po­lice said that at ap­prox­i­mately 12:16 p.m. on Sun­day, they re­sponded to the area of Route 100 and Route 422 East for a road rage in­ci­dent where a gun was dis­played. It was re­ported that “a man in a gold Chevro­let Tahoe pointed a hand­gun at the vic­tim and con­tin­ued to travel east­bound on Route 422.”

Po­lice stopped the ve­hi­cle in Lim­er­ick and a 9 mm hand­gun was re­cov­ered from Hol­land,

po­lice said. Po­lice have not spec­i­fied what cir­cum­stances may have led to the in­ci­dent.

Hol­land was ar­rested on charges of ag­gra­vated as­sault, sim­ple as­sault, ter­ror­is­tic threats, reck­lessly en­dan­ger­ing another per­son, pos­ses­sion of a weapon and dis­or­derly con­duct.

He was ar­raigned on Aug. 20 be­fore District Judge Michael J. Cabry III and is sched­uled for a pre­lim­i­nary hear­ing on Sept. 11 be­fore District Judge Leonard J. Brown. He was un­able to post the set $50,000 cash bail and is be­ing held at Ch­ester County Prison.
