Music was in the air at Boyertown Middle School East

The Boyertown Area Times - - LOCAL NEWS - From Wendy Moyer-Drabick

The musical Music Man Jr. took to the stage on March 8, 9 and 10 at the Boyertown Middle School East. The show was the first for a middle school production, since the school just changed this year from a junior high, but that didn’t matter as there were plenty of cast members on the stage! The show was directed by Mrs. Marcella Binkley and Mrs. Jamie Cullipher and included an orchestra made up of Mr. Michael Agatone (drums) and Mrs. Freed (piano) to make the songs take life.

The show opened on the train with the salesmen talking about a guy named Harold Hill, played by Jared Drabick, who goes from town to town and swindles everyone out of their money by saying he is starting a boy’s band and leaves once he has their money.

Cast members also include Harold’s old friend Marcellus Washburn (Justin Knarr); the town librarian/piano teacher, Marian Paroo (Ellen Dunne); Marian’s mom, Mrs. Paroo (Kara Bussinger); her son, Winthrop Paroo (Addison Moyer); Mayor Shinn (Joseph Carter), and rival salesman, Charlie Cowell (Owen Seemann).

It had all the catchy songs that you remember, an energetic cast and a happy ending. Kudos to showing why the music is always great in Boyertown!
