Fa­ther, son give pre­sen­ta­tion on trip to Hur­ri­cane Irma re­cov­er­ing Key West

St. Luke Lutheran Church, Gil­bertsville, was pleased to present mem­ber Bob Bal­lan­tyne, re­tired Boy­er­town Sr. High Teacher, and his son, Dr. Scott Bal­lan­tyne in their pro­gram en­ti­tled, “Concher­ing Irma” on March 17.

The fa­ther and son team have en­joyed fly fish­ing in Key West for the past 16 years. Their pro­gram showed pic­tures of beau­ti­ful Key West, and pic­tures of the won­der­ful homes in the area.

Next, pic­tures of the de­struc­tion to the area of Hur­ri­cane Irma were shared. Ex­pe­ri­ences of those who live there were de­scribed, and shown.

Though the clean up and re­build­ing of the area con­tin­ues, it’s clear the peo­ple of the area are de­ter­mined to make the area bet­ter than ever. The pro­gram was in­for­ma­tive and in­spi­ra­tional.

Pro­ceeds from the free will of­fer­ing col­lected that evening are be­ing do­nated to the United Way of the Florida Keys, Hur­ri­cane Irma Re­lief.
