Celebrate Earth Day at Boyertown Community Park
Event to include hands-on activities, animals, food, shred event, bicycle rodeo, safety workshop
Earth Day will be celebrated again this year in the Boyertown Community Park on Saturday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Be sure to kick off spring with a day in the park celebrating nature, the environment and healthy living. There will be handson activities, animals and lots of food.
Our annual shred event, sponsored by Gerhart, Hartman & Ritner, will be available in front of the pool from 10 a.m. to noon. Bring your items to be shredded safely and securely. A $10 donation for two grocery size bags in recommended.
The Tree Committee will participate again this year with tree seedlings, plants and perennials. We will also be presented with the “Tree City USA Award” for the 11th consecutive year. Thank you to the Tree Committee and all the tree lovers in town.
At 1 p.m., Boyertown’s finest – our borough police will be in the park to do a bicycle rodeo and bike safety workshop. Bring your bike and test your skills. The fire department and ambulance will also be on site throughout the day and will offer CPR information.
Have you met our park bear – Parker? He stands at the entrance to the park to greet all visitors. We also are very proud of our other new additions – the Water Fountain for dogs and the new Pickle Ball Court.
We would also ask that you please consider being a supporter of Boyertown’s Sensational Summer and Fun Days. Your generous sponsorship dollars help us to provide the fireworks and pig races at Fun Days and educational and fun activities during our park events. A $100 donation to the park allows you to be a “Friend of the Park”. Sponsorships of larger amounts are still available. For more information, contact Borough Hall or Lori Carnes at 610367-9821.
