Body found in ru­ral area ID’d as Pottstown woman

State Po­lice an­nounced Sat­ur­day that the body found Fri­day in this ru­ral Berks County com­mu­nity was that of a one-time Pottstown woman.

State Po­lice at Read­ing iden­ti­fied the vic­tim as Ch­ery­lann Clark, 31, for­merly of Pottstown.

An au­topsy was sched­uled to be per­formed Sat­ur­day at Read­ing Hos­pi­tal, but as of late Sat­ur­day night, state po­lice said the cause of death was un­known and still be­ing in­ves­ti­gated.

Clark’s body was dis­cov­ered early Fri­day morn­ing by a hunter in a wooded area along Dot­terer Road, east of Club Road near the Pike Town­ship boarder with Oley and Earl town­ships.

The hunter called po­lice, who were dis­patched to the scene around 6 a.m.

The Penn­syl­va­nia State Po­lice ma­jor case team and the Berks County Coro­ner’s of­fice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the death.
