Thor­son leads North­west­ern past No. 20 Wis­con­sin

back Jonathan Tay­lor and an­other by quar­ter­back Jack Coan into 17 points on the way to its fourth straight vic­tory.

Thor­son was a bit shaky again af­ter strug­gling in a nar­row win at Rut­gers. He com­pleted 17 of 30 passes for 167 yards with three in­ter­cep­tions against a short-handed de­fense. But he ran for two TDs in the first half and found Kyric McGowan for a 24-yard score in the third quar­ter.

Isa­iah Bowser ran for 117 yards and a touch­down. He scored on a 2-yard run early in the fourth, mak­ing it 31-10 af­ter Coan fum­bled deep in Badgers ter­ri­tory.

Coan was 20 of 31 for 158 yards and a touch­down in his first ca­reer start.

Tay­lor, the na­tion’s lead­ing rusher, ran for just 46 yards on 11 car­ries af­ter fin­ish­ing with 100 or more in eight straight games.

Gar­rett Groshek ran for 68. But the Badgers lost for the sec­ond time in three games.

North­west­ern was lead­ing 14-10 early in the third when Wis­con­sin’s Jack San­born got flagged for rough­ing the punter. That set up Thor­son’s TD pass to McGowan in the back of the end zone.

No. 8 Ok­la­homa 51, Kansas State 14: Kyler Mur­ray passed for 352 yards and three touch­downs and ran for an­other score to help No. 8 Ok­la­homa beat Kansas State at home.

CeeDee Lamb caught four passes for a ca­reer- high 160 yards and two touch­downs, and Kennedy Brooks ran for 94 yards and two scores. The Soon­ers won their sec­ond straight since los­ing to Texas.

No. 12 Ken­tucky 15, Mis­souri 14: Terry Wil­son hit CJ Con­rad for a 2-yard touch­down pass on the fi­nal play of the game as No. 12 Ken­tucky ral­lied from a 14-3 deficit in the fourth quar­ter for the win. Cal­i­for­nia 12, No. 15 Wash­ing­ton 10: Evan Weaver re­turned an in­ter­cep­tion 37 yards and Greg Thomas kicked two field goals to lead Cal­i­for­nia to a home win over No. 15 Wash­ing­ton.

No. 17 Penn State 30, No. 18 Iowa 24: Trace Mc­Sor­ley threw for a touch­down and ran for one as No. 17 Penn State won at home over No. 18 Iowa.

FRI­DAY

No. 23 Utah 41, UCLA 10: Zack Moss ran for a ca­reer-high 211 yards and scored three touch­downs, and Bri­tain Covey had 132 all-pur­pose yards and threw a touch­down pass for the Utes (6-2, 4-2 Pac-12), who won their fourth con­sec­u­tive game. Joshua Kel­ley ran for 90 yards and a touch­down for the Bru­ins (2-6, 2-3).
