Buffalo man, caught in NT burglary, to serve up to 7 years
Darrell E. Dixon, who was caught while burglarizing a North Tonawanda home Aug. 26, was sentenced Tuesday to 3½ to seven years in prison.
State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. imposed the maximum sentence available on Dixon, 46, of North Street, Buffalo who didn’t wait to be indicted before pleading guilty to third-degree burglary.
Niagara County Assistant District Attorney Ryan K. Parisi said a homeowner on Thomas Fox Drive West in the Wurlitzer Park subdivision caught Dixon in the act of breaking in.
Break-ins are nothing new for Dixon, who has been to state prison twice before for Erie County burglaries. He served four years for a 1994 conviction and seven years for a 2001 conviction.
