Hamilton brings trophies back from annual Ocean City car show
Two trophies recently came home with Roger Hamilton, a local member of the Tri-County Cruisers Rod & Custom Car Club, after Cruisin’ Ocean City’s annual car show, held May 19-22 at the beach.
Nearly 600 vehicles and 3,500 registered participants — the highest in many years — took part in the 26th annual event, with Hamilton recognized for his ’ 69 Camaro.
Hamilton, also an inspector for the National Street Rod Association, has participated in the event since its inception in 1990. He and his brother, the late Clyde Hamilton, made the trek to Ocean City to join 192 vehicles for that first car show. Now with triple the participation, this year’s event took two full hours for vehicles to parade down the boardwalk and onto the inlet.
Hamilton’s ’69 Nassau Blue Camaro with white stripes won the grand finale award, presented by the Town of Ocean City, as well as a 6-foottall House of Kolor’s “Kustom Krew” award.
