Arrests made for alleged drug violations
While processing Amber Stewart, 26, of Calloway at the Calvert County Detention Center Sept. 5, authorities allegedly found paraphernalia on her person. Deputy Jeffrey Hardesty was notified and Stewart was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
On Sept. 8, Deputy Joseph Migliaccio responded to a residence on Fourth Street in North Beach to check the welfare of someone. Migliaccio made contact with Matthew Hutchinson, 27, of North Beach and allegedly located drug paraphernalia and heroin within the residence. Hutchinson was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance—not marijuana and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
Deputy Timothy Mohler conducted a traffic stop at Prince Frederick Boulevard and West Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick Sept. 8. Mohler requested the driver, James Johnson Jr., 28, of Mechanicsville, perform standardized field sobriety tests after speaking with him. A search of Johnson and his vehicle reportedly revealed crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Johnson was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance administering equipment, possession of a controlled dangerous substance—not marijuana and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
After conducting a traffic stop at Cross Point Drive and Wild Fire Lane in Owings on Sept. 9, Deputy Kirk Williamson asked the driver to perform standardized field sobriety tests. A K9 arrived on the scene and scanned the vehicle, eliciting a positive alert for possible contraband. Williamson searched the vehicle and reportedly found drug paraphernalia. Joshua Webb, 37, of Owings was transported to the detention center where a more thorough search was conducted and crack cocaine was allegedly located. Webb was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, possess of receive controlled dangerous substance while confined and possession of contraband in a place of confinement.
