Payne grad­u­ates from FBI Na­tional Academy

Capt. David Payne of the Calvert County Sher­iff’s Of­fice, right, grad­u­ated Sept. 13 from the 273rd ses­sion of the FBI Na­tional Academy. Payne was se­lected by the FBI from a large pool of ap­pli­cants from around the world to at­tend the ex­clu­sive 10-week ex­ec­u­tive pro­gram, a press re­lease states. Only the top 1 per­cent of law en­force­ment ex­ec­u­tives are se­lected to at­tend this pro­gram. He spent 10 weeks in Quan­tico, Va., at the FBI Academy where the training fo­cused on grad­u­ate level aca­demics, phys­i­cal fit­ness and learn­ing from the ex­pe­ri­ences of the other law en­force­ment pro­fes­sion­als en­rolled in the pro­gram. The stu­dents in this ses­sion hailed from 25 coun­tries and 48 states. Payne was able to main­tain a per­fect 4.0 GPA in the grad­u­ate-level classes, which are ac­cred­ited by the Univer­sity of Vir­ginia. “Cap­tain Payne is a true as­set to the Calvert County Sher­iff’s Of­fice and the cit­i­zens of Calvert County,” Sher­iff Mike Evans (R) said in the re­lease. Pre­sent­ing the diploma is FBI Direc­tor Christo­pher Wray.
