Living well with diabetes
Living Well with Diabetes workshops will be offered 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5 and Friday, Oct 12, at the North Beach Senior Center; 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday Oct. 8, an Monday, Oct. 15 (there will be no class Oct. 8) at Southern Pines Senior Center. This workshop is for those with diabetes or pre-diabetes. Registration is required.
Medicare Part D open enrollment going on now
Open enrollment for Medicare Part D will be available through Friday, Dec. 7.

Flu shots available
The Office on Aging, the Calvert County Health Department and CalvertHealth will provide high-dose flu shots for those aged 65 and older at the Calvert Mobile Health Unit 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Oct. 15, at the North Beach Senior Center, and 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Oct. 22, at the Calvert Pines Senior Center.
Appointments are required, and the fee is $50 without Medicare.

Calvert County Office on Aging will hold a trip to Riverside Center Dinner Theatre in Fredericksburg, VA to see “Beauty and the Beast” on Broadway Wednesday, Nov. 7.
The cost is $93, which includes transportation, lunch and show ticket. Register at your local senior center. Deadline to register is Monday, Oct. 1.
The Pennsylvania Christmas & Gift Show trip will be held Wednesday, Nov. 28. The trip includes hundreds of vendors ranging from unique crafts, jewelry, decorations, and food. The cost is $45, which includes transportation and entrance fee. Register at your local senior center, but deadline is Thursday, Nov. 7.
The Maryland Energy Assistance Program, through Tri-County Community Action, assists individuals and families with a once-a-year grant to help pay heating and electric bills. You must be eligible to apply, and be prepared to show proof for all household members.
