About election letters

The Calvert Recorder - - Community Forum -

The deadline for candidate rebuttal letters will be at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Letters after that will not be published in print, but like all letters that have been vetted and approved, they will be posted on our website. The Calvert Recorder will not print letters from candidates in contested races commenting on the issues or stating positions. The only exceptions to that rule are when a candidate is (1) replying to editorial criticism from the Recorder; (2) disputing news reporting; or (3) replying to an inaccurate attack from another letter writer. Even then, such letters of reply may be printed at the sole discretion of the editor. The size limit for all letters is 600 words.
