Ringgold hosting 39th annual 1890's Day Festival this weekend
Ringgold’s most popular yearly event will take place this weekend downtown, as thousands are expected to wander the city streets during the 39th annual two-day 1890’s Day Festival.
The Jamboree will kick off Friday evening, May 22, at 6 p.m., and run until 10 p.m. The festivities will then continue all day Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. in historic downtown.
“This is the 39th annual 1890’s Days Festival and we’re excited to see it grow each year,” said Joseph Brellenthin, Ringgold director of downtown development. “This year the Convention and Visitors Bureau will be utilizing the new state-of-the-art mobile stage trailer to expand the number of performances visitors can enjoy. There’s always great food and fun for kids on the inflatables as well.”
The event will consist of more than 100 food, arts, and crafts vendors, live music on multiple stages, music and dance contests, beauty pageants, a parade, classic car show, and a big fireworks display Saturday night and much more.
“As always, admission is free, and all events are family-friendly,” Brellenthin added.
