Ring­gold host­ing 39th an­nual 1890's Day Fes­ti­val this week­end

Ring­gold’s most popular yearly event will take place this week­end down­town, as thou­sands are ex­pected to wan­der the city streets dur­ing the 39th an­nual two-day 1890’s Day Fes­ti­val.

The Jam­boree will kick off Fri­day evening, May 22, at 6 p.m., and run un­til 10 p.m. The fes­tiv­i­ties will then con­tinue all day Satur­day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. in his­toric down­town.

“This is the 39th an­nual 1890’s Days Fes­ti­val and we’re ex­cited to see it grow each year,” said Joseph Brel­len­thin, Ring­gold direc­tor of down­town devel­op­ment. “This year the Con­ven­tion and Vis­i­tors Bureau will be uti­liz­ing the new state-of-the-art mo­bile stage trailer to ex­pand the num­ber of per­for­mances vis­i­tors can en­joy. There’s al­ways great food and fun for kids on the in­flat­a­bles as well.”

The event will con­sist of more than 100 food, arts, and crafts ven­dors, live mu­sic on mul­ti­ple stages, mu­sic and dance con­tests, beauty pageants, a pa­rade, clas­sic car show, and a big fire­works dis­play Satur­day night and much more.

“As al­ways, ad­mis­sion is free, and all events are fam­ily-friendly,” Brel­len­thin added.
