Crownover earns ACC Pitcher of the Year
Former Ringgold baseball standout Matthew Crownover continues to shine at Clemson.
The junior was recently voted the ACC Pitcher of the Year, becoming the first Clemson student-athlete to be named ACC Pitcher of the Year since the award was established in 2005.
Crownover, who finished the season with a 10-1 record in 14 starts on the mound, leads the ACC in wins and holds the lowest ERA among qualifying pitchers at 1.42. He also struck out 91 batters in 95 innings while allowing just 64 hits, 33 walks and has limited opposing hitters to a .187 batting average and just 14 total extrabase hits.
A total of six Clemson players earned first, second or thirdteam All-ACC honors.
