Adairsville continued to gain momentum, scoring on the following possession once again. Reed connected with Branch for a 31 yard pass at the 7:18 mark.

Ringgold was only beginning to fight.

The Blue-and-white tied the game with 1:29 to play following a 29yard TD run by speedy Dee King.

The third quarter proved to be as thrilling with both teams playing to a 34-34.

Branch boosted Adairsville once again with a 90 yard kickoff return at the 11:45 mark.

Ringgold then managed another score in the third with just under 2:00 when Kibler ran it in from the 15.

In the fourth quarter the Adairsville version of the Tigers just couldn’t be tamed.

Reed threw his final TD pass of the night, which was good for 9 yards to Burgess at the 7:26 mark. Boswell then put the icing on the cake on a 3 yard run with :38 to play.

Akins said his Tigers were moving on and putting all of their focus on Friday’s game with Sonoraville.

“They’re good and they’re talented,” he said. “We have a lot of things we need to get fixed.”

Akins said his team met on Sunday, and he hoped their new game plan included staying “humble.”

“We talked to the kids about being unselfish,” he said. “It’s always a work in progress, but the main thing we tell them is what we’re doing isn’t just about football, it’s about life and some day when they have a family or a job.”

Ringgold finished the game with 261 total yards to Adairsville’s 281, including 184 yards in passing from Kibler. He also provided 87 yards running on 20 attempts.

King led Ringgold on the ground with 154 yards rushing on 17 carries. Starks had a stellar night in receiving, with five catches for a total of 149 yards.
