Lady Gen­er­als soc­cer team takes down Coahulla Creek

So­phie Roberts net­ted a first-half goal and Bri­anna Smoth­er­man and Ans­ley Peeler added in­surance goals in the sec­ond half as the Her­itage Lady Gen­er­als im­proved to 4-1 on the sea­son with a 3-1 vic­tory at Coahulla Creek this past Thurs­day.

Her­itage led 1-0 at in­ter­mis­sion, thanks to a penalty kick save by Ten­nessee Wes­leyan­bound se­nior keeper Jen­nie Bridges.

Cal­houn boys 3, Her­itage 1

The Gen­er­als suf­fered their first loss of the sea­son on Fri­day, drop­ping a de­ci­sion at Cal­houn. Den­nis Viars had the lone goal for Her­itage (3-1).

Both Her­itage var­sity squads are slated to play on Tues­day when they travel to Tun­nel Hill to face off with North­west Whit­field in Re­gion 6-AAAA con­tests. Both the Gen­er­als and Lady Gen­er­als will be at home against Pick­ens on Fri­day.

North Mur­ray girls 3, LFO 2

Kristina Wooten scored a pair of goals this past Thurs­day night, but her per­for­mance was not enough to get the Lady War­riors past the Lady Moun­taineers as the Red-and-White dropped a nar­row de­ci­sion in Chatsworth.

Faith Jones and Syd­ney Moss had the as­sists for LFO (0-4, 0-2), while Becca Leggett recorded seven saves in net.

North Mur­ray boys 10, LFO 0

The War­riors fell to 0-4 over­all and 0-2 in re­gion play with a loss to the Moun­taineers.

LFO boys were sched­uled to play at home on Mon­day against Howard of Chat­tanooga, but due to news­pa­per dead­lines, re­sults were not avail­able as of press time.

Both LFO squads were also slated to be in ac­tion at home on Tues­day against LaFayette. They will jump back into re­gion play Thurs­day at Cal­houn.

North­west sweeps Ring­gold

Ring­gold played its open­ing matches in Tun­nel Hill this past Fri­day and the Tigers and Lady Tigers both lost by 10-0 scores in a pair of non-re­gion matches.

Ring­gold will play at Coahulla Creek in Re­gion 6-AAA matches on Tues­day be­fore host Ridge­land in non-re­gion con­tests on Fri­day.

Matches will start at 5 p.m. both days.
