The Catoosa County News - - COMMENTARY - By Scott Herpst

It’s been a tough past two nights for the Ringgold Lady Tigers, who dropped back-toback road games at Adairsville and North Murray.

Adairsville 8, Ringgold 5

Last Wednesday, the Blue-and-White scored two runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to forces extras, but gave up three runs in the bottom of the 10th to lose the Region 6-AAA crossover game.

Ringgold had 17 hits. Riley Nayadley had four of them, including two doubles, while Shelby Cole was 4-for-5 with a double and a run scored.

Kaylee Womack had two hits with a double and knocked in a run. Brooklyn Keith and Amber Gainer each had two hits, while Carolyn Hemphill also had an RBI.

Kaylee Phillips took the loss. She threw nine innings, giving up 13 hits and seven runs, though only two were earned as the Lady Tigers hurt themselves with five errors. She walked three and struck out three. Keith and Hemphill also pitched for Ringgold.

North Murray 6, Ringgold 2

The bad luck continued for the Blueand-White on Thursday with a subregion loss in Chatsworth.

North Murray broke open a 2-1 game with four runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Individual statistics for the Lady Tigers (5-9 overall, 2-2 in 6-AAA North) were not available as of press time.
