The senior gave up just five hits and also had a double in the victory. D.J. Ball had a double as the Panthers pushed home a run in the top of the first and later added two in the fifth inning.

The defense also helped out by turning four double plays.

Gilmer 5, Ridgeland 2

The Gilmer Bobcats

salvaged Game 3 of their three-game series with Ridgeland on Friday night, beating the Panthers, 5-2, at Jay Smith Field.

Dylan Wooten took the loss for Ridgeland. No further details were available.

Ridgeland (3-5, 2-4) will play a three-game series with Southeast Whitfield this week.

Game 1 was scheduled for Tuesday at Southeast. Ridgeland will host Game 2 on Thursday before the final game will be back in Dalton on Friday.
