The Navy-andWhite took out their frus­tra­tions on the Lions on Fri­day as the No. 1-ranked team in the Class 1A Pub­lic School divi­sion scored six times in the bot­tom of the first in­ning en route to a rout in Chicka­mauga.

Gor­don Lee added three runs in the bot­tom of the third and five in the bot­tom of the fourth be­fore the game ended on the run rule in fifth.

Day hit a home run and drove in two runs in the rout. Wooden,

Bar­bee, Pot­ter and Thomp­son all had two hits apiece. Pot­ter and Hop­kins each drove in three runs, while Wooden, Bar­bee and Hud­son all had one RBI.

Jake Poin­dex­ter got the win on the mound. He threw three in­nings with five strike­outs. Hop­kins struck out two and gave up just one hit in his one in­ning of work and Size­more threw one hit­less in­ning to fin­ish it up.

The Tro­jans (10-3, 6-1) were slated to face the Lions on Tues­day. That game will mark the be­gin­ning of a busy week for Gor­don Lee, who will host Dar­ling­ton on Wed­nes­day be­fore tak­ing part in the Look­out Val­ley Clas­sic on Thurs­day, Fri­day and Satur­day.
