Statesville day care worker ac­cused of as­sault­ing 22-month-old child in video

A day care worker ac­cused of as­sault­ing a 22month-old was fired af­ter video re­port­edly sur­faced show­ing the in­ci­dent.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened at Fu­ture Gen­er­a­tions Day­care on Buf­falo Shoals Road in Statesville, of­fi­cials say.

The ac­cused em­ployee, Lori Fisher, has worked at the child care fa­cil­ity for 11 years.

The baby’s par­ents re­ported the in­ci­dent to the day care and to Statesville po­lice.

Fisher was fired im­me­di­ately af­ter video was re­viewed by the day care owner.

Fisher was ar­rested Thurs­day night and charged with sim­ple as­sault. She was given a $ 1,000 bond.

No fur­ther in­for­ma­tion was re­leased.
