Chil­dren in­ter­act with emer­gency re­spon­ders

The Penn­syl­va­nia State Po­lice Troop P Wy­oming and Troop R Dun­more hosted a Sunny Day Camp at Luzerne County Com­mu­nity Col­lege’s Pub­lic Safety Train­ing In­sti­tute in Nan­ti­coke on Satur­day. The event was open to chil­dren of all ages with a phys­i­cal or men­tal hand­i­cap. Kids were able to meet state troop­ers, lo­cal po­lice of­fi­cers, fire­fight­ers and other first re­spon­ders. There was a va­ri­ety of po­lice ve­hi­cles on hand for chil­dren to check out, in ad­di­tion to K-9 units, firetrucks, am­bu­lances and more.
