NFL, just play football
Editor: I am so tired of the NFL football babies. They make more money in a year than some of us do in a lifetime, and yet have the nerve to disrespect our flag and our national anthem. Apparently they never grew out of the high school jock bully stage.
I have no patience with them and no respect for them.
Let me be clear. I am so sorry the players were subjected to the president’s “nasty” comments. When you do not stand — and should have your hand over your heart — for the American flag and national anthem, you are not disrespecting the president, you are disrespecting our United States of America, where you have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Instead of their childish protests, why aren’t these players using their exorbitant salaries to be on the front line of working with at-risk kids to teach them a better way, to teach them respect for flag and country, to teach them how to stay away from drugs and gangs, and how to work for/with, not against people?
Possibly if other protesters had to actually work for a living they would have less time to protest. Enough with the political statements, just play football. Linda Shypulefski SHICKSHINNY
