In­mate ar­raigned on urine-fling­ing charges

A State Cor­rec­tional In­sti­tu­tion Dal­las in­mate was ar­raigned Mon­day on ag­gra­vated as­sault charges al­leg­ing he threw urine in a cor­rec­tional of­fi­cer’s face.

Donte Mor­ri­son, 23, is ac­cused of throw­ing urine that hit Sgt. John Kony­cki in the head, face and body as he walked past Mor­ri­son’s cell the morn­ing of Nov. 12, ac­cord­ing to the charges. The in­ci­dent was the third time Mor­ri­son threw bod­ily flu­ids at a cor­rec­tional of­fi­cer dur­ing his time at the prison, the charges say.

A nurse in the in­fir­mary treated Kony­cki af­ter the in­ci­dent, and state troop­ers filed charges of ag­gra­vated as­sault and ag­gra­vated ha­rass­ment against Mor­ri­son, who is serv­ing time on rob­bery and weapons charges in a Philadel­phia case.

Dur­ing a pre­lim­i­nary hear­ing Mon­day morn­ing, Mag­is­te­rial District Judge Joseph D. Spag­n­uolo Jr. set bail at $25,000, with a pre­lim­i­nary hear­ing set for April 30.
