Inmate arraigned on urine-flinging charges
A State Correctional Institution Dallas inmate was arraigned Monday on aggravated assault charges alleging he threw urine in a correctional officer’s face.
Donte Morrison, 23, is accused of throwing urine that hit Sgt. John Konycki in the head, face and body as he walked past Morrison’s cell the morning of Nov. 12, according to the charges. The incident was the third time Morrison threw bodily fluids at a correctional officer during his time at the prison, the charges say.
A nurse in the infirmary treated Konycki after the incident, and state troopers filed charges of aggravated assault and aggravated harassment against Morrison, who is serving time on robbery and weapons charges in a Philadelphia case.
During a preliminary hearing Monday morning, Magisterial District Judge Joseph D. Spagnuolo Jr. set bail at $25,000, with a preliminary hearing set for April 30.
