A construction project to replace the Route 115 bridge spanning Little Shades Creek, originally scheduled to begin this week, has been rescheduled until the week of May 2, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Monday.

Motorists will use a temporary bridge for travel around the work zone during construction. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. The new bridge is anticipated to be complete in August.

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may still change, according to PENNDOT.

The bridge is one of 558 being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, a public-private partnership between PENNDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners, which will finance, design, replace, and maintain the bridges for 25 years.
