Unsolicited calls need to stop

The Citizens' Voice - - EDITORIAL -

Editor: Why is it that we are subject to so many unsolicited phone calls on land lines and cellphones?

Do you really think that with the technology today it can not be tracked and eliminated? I theorize that the AT&TS and Verizons are probably involved in some way. If in none other than they benefit from their rates and fees.

They obviously have a very effective lobby in the swamp. I know that we can monitor most calls with caller IDS, but the sheer volume of these calls with even local numbers, is frustrating and most annoying.

I am usually against more regulation, but feel we are just continuing our vulnerability and we should require our legislators to act on this issue. Wayne C. Williams Dallas
