Women’s Soc­cer

Mis­eri­cor­dia won its open­ing game of the NCAA Divi­sion III Tour­na­ment, 3-1, over Rowan on Satur­day at Johns Hop­kins.

Ash­ley Edgell had two goals and Jeanna Or­fanos also scored for the Cougars, who ad­vanced to play in the next round at 6 p.m. to­day against the host school.

Wilkes 2, Mount St. Mary 0 At Spring­field, Karyna Vargas and Jes­sica Egan scored to lead the Colonels to a win in the ECAC tour­na­ment.

Men’s Soc­cer

Grove City elim­i­nated Wilkes in the first round of the ECAC tour­na­ment on Satur­day with a 3-0 win.

Tim Gal­lagher made eight saves for the Colonels, who fin­ished 8-9-1.

Cross Coun­try

Mis­eri­cor­dia’s Clare Schoen qual­i­fied for the NCAA Cham­pi­onships with a fourth-place fin­ish (22:48) on Satur­day at De­sales in the Mideast Re­gional.

On the men’s side, Alex Fitch led the Cougars in 45th.


Wilkes’ Ni­cholas Bauer (125 pounds), Jessie Lopez (141) and Ni­cholas Ra­canelli (165) all won cham­pi­onships on Satur­day at the Get­tys­burg In­vi­ta­tional.

Women’s Bas­ket­ball

At Im­mac­u­lata, Rachel Car­mody had 19 points and 10 re­bounds to lead Mis­eri­cor­dia to a 74-54 win in its sea­son opener.
