Fraud ... A case of fraud was re­ported to the po­lice Aug. 6 at 12:58 p.m. from a man who said his wife got a phone call Aug. 4 at 11:26 a.m. from a man who iden­ti­fied him­self as the woman’s grand­son, po­lice said. The man pos­ing as her grand­son said he needed $2,700 in bail money to get out of jail, po­lice said. He in­structed her to send the money via Western Union to a bond­ing com­pany in Do­mini­can Repub­lic, ac­cord­ing to the po­lice, and the money was sent. On Aug. 6, the res­i­dents re­ceived another phone call from the man pos­ing as their grand­son, and he said the bail had been in­creased by another $2,700, and af­ter that money was sent, the res­i­dents re­ceived another phone call for $1,500 in court ad­min­is­tra­tion fees, which was also sent, po­lice said.

Dis­or­derly con­duct ... Crosby Alverez, 18, of the 900 block of East Al­lens Lane in Philadel­phia, was cited for dis­or­dely con­duct Aug. 6 at 8:26 p.m., af­ter po­lice ob­served Alverez in a ve­hi­cle at Lau­rel Beech Park in Wyn­d­moor and de­tected the odor of mar­i­juana, po­lice said.

Theft from ve­hi­cle ... A res­i­dent re­ported at 12:17 p.m. that a purse con­tain­ing ID, credit cards, cash and an iPhone was taken out of her ve­hi­cle Aug. 6, po­lice said. The pas­sen­ger side win­dow of the car was bro­ken, po­lice said.

Sim­ple as­sault ... A sim- ple as­sault case was re­ported to the po­lice Aug. 7 at 11:34 a.m. at the Car­son Val­ley School, 1419 Beth­le­hem Pike, Flour­town, po­lice said. A 15-year-old in­volved in the July 31 in­ci­dent has been pe­ti­tioned to ju­ve­nile court, po­lice said.

Theft from ve­hi­cle ... The pas­sen­ger side win­dow of a ve­hi­cle was re­ported smashed Aug. 7 at 3:34 p.m., po­lice said. A purse con­tain­ing a wal­let was taken from the car, which was parked at the Ore­land Swim Club, 190 Pa­per Mill Road, since around 1:30 p.m., po­lice said.

Van­dal­sim ... Rus­sell Roof­ing Co., lo­cated at 1200 Penn­syl­va­nia Ave., Ore­land, re­ported that some­time be­tween 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Aug. 7, pry marks were made around the key­hole of the door, but noth­ing was taken, po­lice said.

Theft from ve­hi­cle ... A wal­let was taken from a ve­hi­cle on the 200 block of Pa­per Mill Road Aug. 5, po­lice said. The theft oc­curred be­tween 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., when the ve­hi­cle was un­locked and unat­tended.

Theft ... A Gi­ant bike with sil­ver, black and yel­low let­ter­ing was re­ported stolen from a car port on the 200 block of Pre­ston Road, Flour­town, Aug. 10 around 2 p.m., po­lice said.

Pub­lic drunk­en­ness ... Robin Jimenez, 26, of the 2100 block of Spring House Lane, Aston, Pa., was ar­rested for pub­lic drunk­en­ness Aug. 10 around 3 a.m. along Haws Lane, Flour­town, po­lice said. She was pro­cessed and taken to the po­lice sta­tion, po­lice said.

Sim­ple as­sault ... Awoman walked into the po­lice sta­tion Aug. 10 at 8 a.m. and re­ported that she had been as­saulted by her hus­band, po­lice said. There had been an ar­gu­ment be­tween the two in­side the prop­erty on the 1400 block of Cromwell Road, Wyn­d­moor, and the man slapped her across her lower back, grabbed her arms and a strug­gle en­sued, po­lice re­ported. The man was ar­rested and charged with sim­ple as­sault and ha­rass­ment, po­lice said. He was pro­cessed and had a video ar­raign­ment by District Judge Karen Zucker, who set bail at $5,000 un­se­cured, with the con­di­tion that he have no con­tact with the fam­ily un­til his pre­lim­i­nary hear­ing Aug. 18, po­lice said.
