Trump supports Christian positions
In his Sunday op-ed “Trump’s baked-in support not hard to explain,” Hugh Hewitt commented on the progressives’ surprise at the continuous support for President Trump by the Christian community. The surprise is somewhat reciprocal in the face of some conservatives’ refusal to support this administration.
From the perspective of practicing Christians, what alternative do we have? Unless I am missing something, the only available alternative is the Democratic Party. What that would mean is the preponderance of the abortion license for any reason or for no reason up to and including partialbirth abortion; support of homosexual marriage; strengthening of feminism; relative neglect of boys in family and society; downgrading of the role of the father in both family and society; continuous promotion of sexual license in society; continuous attacks on the First Amendment to the Constitution — freedom of religion and freedom of speech.
As of late, the Democratic program also includes the attacks on the police, and advocacy for open borders and illegal immigration. And the latest addition: disrespect for the flag and the national anthem. The progressive program, it seems, is to go full speed forward, setting society in a free-falling condition of disintegration with nowhere to set a foot and stop.
In brief, and to the contrary, where would we find support for strengthening the foundations of society, religion, family, and country? The choice, I submit, is starkly clear.
