Short North Church to host monthly pop-ups

The Columbus Dispatch - - Faith&values -

Short North Church, formerly New Life United Methodist Church at 25 W. 5th Ave., will soon reopen as a brand new church.

The church closed in May, after struggling with a dwindling membership, with the intent to renovate, rebrand and reopen as a branch of North Broadway United Methodist Church.

The hope is that the church will open in spring or summer. Until then, the church is hosting monthly pop-ups around the Short North.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 21, the church will hold a Love Alive Pop-Up at the actual church site, where people are invited to help clear out the church and enjoy a communal lunch. The community is also invited to purchase any items inside the church that need a new home, for whatever price they want to pay with all proceeds benefiting hurricane relief efforts. To volunteer at the pop-up, contact vickinich@ gmail.com.

The church’s website will launch later this month at www. shortnorthchurch.org.
