Discussion to focus on fi refighters’ safety
Firefighters and others pushing for safety reforms to prevent cancer will discuss the issue Wednesday in a public forum.
The Columbus Dispatch and the Columbus Division of Fire are sponsoring the 7 p.m. forum to talk about the threat of cancer in the fire service and what else can be done to protect firefighters.
The public event will be held at the Columbus Fire Training Academy’s John Nance Auditorium, 3639 Parsons Ave.
Admission is free, and parking is available on site. Mike Thompson, chief content director for news and public affairs at WOSU Radio, will moderate the event.
The forum comes after a five-day Dispatch series that uncovered a cancer problem in the fire service. For more information or to read the series, visit Dispatch.com/ Unmasked
