2 slain in separate shootings in Columbus
Two people are dead in separate shooting incidents that occurred within a half-hour of each other in neighborhoods on the Hilltop and the East Side on Sunday night.
Columbus police responded around 9:20 p.m. to reports of shots fired in the 500 block of South Terrace Avenue just south of Sullivant Avenue.
When Columbus fire paramedics arrived, they tried to revive the person but pronounced the person dead at 9:29 p.m.
Then at 9:49 p.m., Columbus police and fire units were called to the 900 block of Rarig Avenue in the Krumm Park neighborhood on a report of a shooting.
A man was taken in life-threatening condition to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at 10:13 p.m.
Meanwhile, Columbus police were looking for a possible second victim in the Hilltop shooting.
A man and woman who live near the shooting scene on Sullivant Avenue said they heard about a dozen gunshots before police and fire descended on the area.
There were a number of orange cones in the middle of South Terrace Avenue to mark possible shell casings.
