Congregants use gardens to serve wider communities

The Columbus Dispatch - - Front Page - By Danae King

When Paula Penn-Nabrit sees churches with big, open spaces they just mow, she wishes they would start a garden to feed their congregations and the wider community.

That's what she did four years ago with her sons and nephews. Penn-Nabrit started the Charles Madison Nabrit Memorial Garden at the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, 1200 Brentnell Ave., to honor her husband who died in 2013.

The garden has evolved since then, she said, to help answer problems of poverty
