Su­per­in­ten­dent con­tract reached

The Colum­bus Board of Ed­u­ca­tion has fi­nally signed its sought-af­ter new su­per­in­ten­dent Tal­isa Dixon as the next leader of Ohio’s largest school dis­trict.

Dur­ing a spe­cial meet­ing Satur­day, the board ap­proved a three­year deal with Dixon that will pay her Dixon $242,000 a year, plus in­cen­tives. She will start full time on March 4, but will work one day a week in the dis­trict begin­ning Jan. 1.

“I feel for­tu­nate to be given this op­por­tu­nity to lead Colum­bus City Schools,” Dixon said in a writ­ten state­ment re­leased by the dis­trict Satur­day af­ter­noon, fol­low­ing a spe­cially called board meet­ing. “I be­lieve I can pro­vide the lead­er­ship needed to move the dis­trict for­ward and help
