Video shows Harrison Ford wrongly flying over airliner
Newly released video shows a plane piloted by Harrison Ford mistakenly flying low over an airliner that was taxiing at a Southern California airport.
The 45 seconds of video released Tuesday shows the 74-year-old star’s potentially serious mishap at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.
In it, an American Airlines 737 is taxiing slowly. Then Ford’s yellow, singleengine plane suddenly zooms in from the right of the frame, flying low over the airliner and casting its shadow down the middle of the bigger plane before landing on the taxiway.
Ford was supposed to land on a runway that runs parallel to the taxiway.
In a previously released recording from air traffic control, Ford asks, “Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?”
Fallon donates $100K to fund art at his high school
Jimmy Fallon has donated $100,000 to help fund the art program at the high school he attended, with some of the money going toward the school’s TV studio.
The host of NBC’s “Tonight Show” is a 1992 graduate of Saugerties High School in upstate New York. Fallon tells The Associated Press in a statement that he’s glad to be able to give something back. He adds: “And if anyone there wants to return the favor with a statue of me or something, I’m totally cool with that, too.”
While there’s no word on a statue, district Superintendent Seth Turner thanked Fallon for the gift and joked that he’s willing to completely eliminate Fallon’s disciplinary record in return.
