The Rev. Jesse Jack­son Sun­day con­tin­ued to crit­i­cize Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump for Satur­day’s vi­o­lence in Char­lottesville, Vir­ginia, telling a crowd at a Mem­phis church that the Pres­i­dent’s fail­ure to con­demn white su­prem­a­cists val­i­dates them.

“Trump does not seem to care be­cause these are the white su­prem­a­cists who are key sup­port­ers,” he said of the Pres­i­dent’s re­sponse to the Char­lottesville sit­u­a­tion. “His si­lence gives them val­i­da­tion.”

Jack­son, in Mem­phis for a series of events this week­end, blamed Trump Satur­day at the Na­tional Civil Rights Mu­seum for the vi­o­lent clashes be­tween white su­prem­a­cists and counter pro­test­ers. He spoke Sun­day morn­ing at Mt. Pis­gah CME Church in Or­ange Mound.
