The Rev. Jesse Jackson Sunday continued to criticize President Donald Trump for Saturday’s violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, telling a crowd at a Memphis church that the President’s failure to condemn white supremacists validates them.
“Trump does not seem to care because these are the white supremacists who are key supporters,” he said of the President’s response to the Charlottesville situation. “His silence gives them validation.”
Jackson, in Memphis for a series of events this weekend, blamed Trump Saturday at the National Civil Rights Museum for the violent clashes between white supremacists and counter protesters. He spoke Sunday morning at Mt. Pisgah CME Church in Orange Mound.
