Bar­bara’s Beau­ties chap­ter of the Red Hat So­ci­ety re­cently held a Tea Party on the pa­tio of one of the mem­bers.

The ladies were dressed in their ‘Red Hat’ at­tire wear­ing a red hat and a pur­ple out­fit.

On the month of your birth­day, you wear a pur­ple hat and a red out­fit. Mem­bers un­der 50 years old wear a pink hat and a laven­der out­fit.

Dur­ing the tea party mem­bers en­joyed a lunch of cin­na­mon pe­can scones and poppy seed muffins as the first course, Tortellini spinach soup with mini meat­balls and a salad as a sec­ond course, fol­lowed by Reuben sand­wiches, hot ham and cheese roll-ups with sesame seeds and also a mini pep­per­oni pizza and the third course.

For the fourth and fi­nal course, mem­bers were given treats which in­cluded as­sorted cook­ies, le­mon tarts with blue­ber­ries, a cho­co­late mousse tart with a cherry and of course, as­sorted teas.

The group has been to­gether for ten years and has 20 mem­bers.

Mem­bers at­tend­ing “tea” in­cluded Queen (leader) Bar­bara Leer as the host­ess, Diane Davis, Nancy New­pher, Mary Shaner, Jackie Hur­challa, Margo New­man, Nancy Gon­goll, Maryanne Joyce, Adri­anne Men­sok, Karen Wike and Nancy May.

They are from Dou­glassville, Birdsboro and Mor­gan­town.

They have an event once a month.

The ladies were dressed in their ‘Red Hat’ at­tire wear­ing a red hat and a pur­ple out­fit for their monthly gath­er­ing.
