Religious icon: The miraculous myrrh-streaming icon of St. Anna, the mother of Mary, the Virgin, will be brought to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 1236Junipe­r Street, on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. There are numerous reports of people having been cured of cancer after being anointed with the myrrh. Currently, the miraculous icon is housed at the Monastery of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk, South Canaan, Pa., the oldest Orthodox Christian monastery in America. Fr. Daniel will accompany the icon to its visit at Holy Trinity. Fr. Jason Franchak, rector at Holy Trinity, will serve the typical Saturday evening Vespers at 6:30 pm in the church. All are invited to see the icon of St. Anna, enjoy refreshmen­ts afterward, and stay for Vespers. On-site parking is available. Chronic Disease Management Support Group (formerly called Congestive Heart Failure Support Group): On the second Wednesday of each month, the Chronic Disease Management Support Group invites a featured guest who covers a key topic that is beneficial to those managing heart health and other chronic diseases.
