Sly Fox Bock Fest, Goat Races draw crowd
POTTSTOWN » The Sly Fox Bock Fest and Goat Races made its return for the 18th year May 6.
The day, which celebrates spring with Bock beers, drew thousands of visitors to watch the goat races and sample their favorite brews.
One of the highlights was the release of the Maibock, which was tapped immediately after the goat race and named in honor of the winner.
About 60 competitors ran in front of thousands of attendees at the Sly Fox Brewery at 331 Circle of Progress.
In addition to the races, the festival featured live German Oompah bands, lots of food and other family friendly events.
Bradley White from Salem, N.J., and his pet goat “Princess Jenny” took first place at the 18th annual Sly Fox Bock Fest and Goat Races. “Princess Jenny” is a 2-year-old, 45-pound Pygmy goat and first-time racer.
“Princess Jenny” revels in the winner’s circle after taking first-place in Sunday’s goat races at Sly Fox Brewery. The day also marks the release of the Maibock which was tapped after the race and named after the winner.
