Sly Fox Bock Fest, Goat Races draw crowd

POTTSTOWN » The Sly Fox Bock Fest and Goat Races made its re­turn for the 18th year May 6.

The day, which cel­e­brates spring with Bock beers, drew thou­sands of vis­i­tors to watch the goat races and sam­ple their fa­vorite brews.

One of the high­lights was the re­lease of the Mai­bock, which was tapped im­me­di­ately after the goat race and named in honor of the win­ner.

About 60 com­peti­tors ran in front of thou­sands of at­ten­dees at the Sly Fox Brew­ery at 331 Cir­cle of Progress.

In ad­di­tion to the races, the fes­ti­val fea­tured live Ger­man Oom­pah bands, lots of food and other fam­ily friendly events.

Bradley White from Salem, N.J., and his pet goat “Princess Jenny” took first place at the 18th an­nual Sly Fox Bock Fest and Goat Races. “Princess Jenny” is a 2-year-old, 45-pound Pygmy goat and first-time racer.
