Rail­fest in Ham­burg to fea­ture demon­stra­tions and ex­hibits.

Ground­break­ing for first new build­ing on mu­seum grounds set for 2:15 p.m.

The Read­ing Rail­road Her­itage Mu­seum in­vites ev­ery­one to “Rail­fest 2018: Haul­ing Black Di­a­monds on the Read­ing Rail­road” on Satur­day, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sun­day, June 10, from noon to 5 p.m.

The fes­ti­val will fea­ture demon­stra­tions and ex­hibits about coal trans­porta­tion on the Read­ing Rail­road, dis­plays of spe­cial his­toric Read­ing Rail­road cars open only dur­ing Rail­fest, op­er­at­ing model train dis­plays, the best coun­try and rail­road mu­sic, food, ven­dors, ac­tiv­i­ties and Munchkin Rail­way rides for chil­dren, a unique truck show fea­tur­ing coal-de­liv­ery trucks, and more.

The Mu­seum cel­e­brates its 10th an­niver­sary this year. Ground­break­ing for the first new build­ing on the mu­seum grounds will be held at 2:15 PM on Satur­day, June 9. The new build­ing will pro­tect some of the valu­able his­toric lo­co­mo­tives and rail cars col­lected by the Read­ing Com­pany Tech­ni­cal and His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety, the par­ent or­ga­ni­za­tion of the Mu­seum.

The Read­ing Rail­road Her­itage Mu­seum is lo­cated at 500 S. Third St., Ham­burg.
