Flag Day Cer­e­mony: Two flags will be ded­i­cated near the en­trance of Edge­wood Ceme­tery, 106 Edge­wood St., Pottstown, where up to 200 vet­er­ans were laid to rest, on Flag Day, June 14. An­drew Monas­tra, a lo­cal at­tor­ney, and Joe Ciresi are among the in­di­vid­u­als lend­ing sup­port and pur­chas­ing ma­te­ri­als. A Penn­syl­va­nia state flag and Amer­i­can flag will be raised at this cer­e­mony, which is open to the gen­eral pub­lic.

Gentle­men’s Day: Discover the trades and skills of 18th cen­tury men and gentle­men at Pottsgrove Manor Satur­day, June 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cel­e­brate the his­tory of fa­ther­hood at Pottsgrove Manor. Learn about our colo­nial an­ces­tors and the skills needed by men in the 18th cen­tury Un­cover how the cook would pre­pare com­plex Ge­or­gian meals for the Potts fam­ily in the re­con­structed kitchen. Get your hands dirty with the gar­dener to tend the many plants for food and medicine in the kitchen gar­den. Join the tai­lor to con­struct finely fit­ted and flat­ter­ing cloth­ing for the gentle­men in your life. His­toric in­ter­preters will demon­strate their skills and of­fer­ing hands-on learn­ing all day. Com­plete your day by en­joy­ing 18th cen­tury lawn games that the whole fam­ily can ap­pre­ci­ate. Tours of the manor will also be avail­able through­out the day. This pro­gram wel­comes all ages and is rain or shine. There is a sug­gested $2 do­na­tion for the event. Cel­e­brate Re­cov­ery: The new­est min­istry at Hopewell Com­mu­nity Church, 1130 Com­merce Drive, Pottstown, will “Cel­e­brate Re­cov­ery” through meet­ings every Wed­nes­day at 7 p.m. Cel­e­brate Re­cov­ery deals with Hurts, Hang Ups, and yes Habits. It is a twelve step pro­gram, un­like other pro­grams we know who our “higher power” is, the one and only God and it is bib­li­cally based. We will honor Je­sus and Praise Him.
