Leesport na­tive and his band Wood Belly take first at fes­ti­val

Leesport na­tive Chris Weist and the other mem­bers of the blue­grass band Wood Belly won 1st place at the 2018 Tel­luride Blue­grass Fes­ti­val in Tel­luride, Colorado, on June 23.

Win­ning the top prize in the Tel­luride Blue­grass Band Com­pe­ti­tion in front of a crowd of 20,000, the vic­tory landed them a main stage per­for­mance slot for the 2019 Tel­luride Fes­ti­val. Their al­bum Solid Ground was re­leased Spring 2018 and can be found on Spo­tify.

Formed in 2015, Wood Belly con­sists of Chris Zink on do­bro, Tay­lor Shuck on bass, Craig Pat­ter­son on gui­tar, Aaron McCloskey on banjo and Chris Weist on man­dolin. The mem­bers live in Colorado.
