Upper Perk gets even with Boyertown
The Upper Perkiomen football team waited a whole season to get back at Boyertown.
And on Friday night, the Tribe made the most of it.
Upper Perkiomen jumped scored five unanswered touchdowns out of the gates on the way to a 35-8 win over the Bears in both teams’ season finale.
For Upper Perk (1-4 Pioneer Athletic Conference Frontier; 3-7 overall), the win settles the score from a 37-12 loss to the Bears in August to start the year. Boyertown’s season comes to a close 1-9 overall (0-5 PAC Liberty), their only win coming against Upper Perk.
Luke Whary and Tyrese Reid combined for 100 yards rushing and four touchdowns on the night.
Whary rushed it 11 times for 64 yards and three touchdowns while Reid had 42 yards and a touchdown.
Quarterback Tyler Weber completed eight of 15 passing attempt for 133 yards, including a 54-yard scoring connection with Max Kratohwill.
Boyertown running back Jamie Moccia had 45 yards rushing on 11 carries. Zachary Davis had six carries for 20 yards, to go along with a six-yard run for the Bears’ lone score. He also pulled in two catches for 30 yards receiving. Quarterback Ayden Mathias was held to 16 yards passing while completing three of 10 attempts.
