The Covington News - - BUSINESS -

United Bank opened the doors of its 15th bank location on Wednesday, July 18, in Covington’s new Wal-Mart SuperCenter. This is the second United Bank location in the Covington market, and the bank’s fifth instore banking office. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., and on Saturday, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

United Bank’s first Covington bank office opened downtown at 1182 Washington Street earlier this year. The bank operates four additional in-store banks in grocery stores located in Griffin and Barnesville, and the Wal-Mart SuperCenter located in Thomaston. “United Bank strives to offer its customers multiple choices for handling their banking needs,” said Reed Beard, President of United Bank in Covington. The in-store location offers extended hours banking for customers who have a hard time getting to the bank by 5 p.m. “Our in-store branch is a full service banking office. It’s ideal for business owners or managers who cannot leave the office to visit the bank during traditional banking hours.

Anytime you can combine two errands into one, such as buying groceries and making an account deposit, no one can resist the opportunity to save valuable time.”

United Bank employees staffing the new Instore located in Wal-Mart include Regina Cheek, Micky Tyree, Lea Owensby and Nanje Durden.

In addition to the Covington offices United Bank operates thirteen other banking offices in Pike, Lamar, Morgan, Spalding and Upson counties. With over 300 employees and $622 million in assets, the Bank offers a full range of small business, consumer and commercial banking products as well as residential mortgages and trust and investment services.

Stop by and visit Regina Cheek, the in-store branch manager, and her staff at this newest bank location in Covington.
